At The Gathering Church, we kicked off the new year with a sermon series called “Living in the Upside-Down Kingdom.” In this teaching, Jesus invites us to “seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” (Matt. 6:33)
Jesus is not giving a new law or set of rules. Instead, He takes what His listeners already knew and leads them deeper into God’s heart for true righteousness and authentic kingdom living. When we begin to understand what Jesus is unveiling in this kingdom message, it challenges and even turns upside down many of our religious assumptions and practices.
