We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The triune God is coequal, existing eternally in a relationship of joyful, mutual self-giving.
Jesus Christ is the only Son of God. Co-equal with the Father, Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all men by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate his power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven’s glory and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.
The Holy Spirit, co-equal with the Father and the Son, is present in the world to make people aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every believer from the moment of salvation and provides power for daily living, understanding spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right, as believers live under His control.
The Bible is God’s Word to all mankind. Written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit, it is inspired by God, true and trustworthy, and is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and daily living.
God made humans in His own image as free, creative, relational creatures designed for fellowship with God, one another, and creation. We are "fearfully and wonderfully made," proclaimed good and beloved by God. As dust animated by the breath of God, we are finite, dependent people who are complete only in God.
Doubting God's goodness and desiring control, humanity separated itself from fellowship with God through choices that do not align with God's good will and design. Sin universally infects our hearts and continues to fracture our relationships with God, others and creation, leading to spiritual and physical death.
God triumphed over sin and death through the birth, life, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, thereby providing the way to salvation, the forgiveness of sins, and freedom from sin’s power. When we acknowledge our need and place our faith in Jesus and His finished work on our behalf, we are restored to life-giving fellowship with God and empowered by the Holy Spirit to live in that freedom.
Restoration— to God, one another, and creation is both an ongoing process and the central vision of God’s promise to redeem the world. The Holy Spirit leads believers to grow in dependence on God and to trust more fully in the person and work of Jesus. Ongoing sanctification and transformation are the miraculous and mysterious gifts of God that involve our repentance, honesty, active participation and obedience born out of gratitude.
The Church (universal) is God's family—a community of the forgiven and adopted —of which Jesus Christ is the head. We are charged to represent the Kingdom of God by loving God, one another, and the created world through our testimony, baptism, communion, discipleship, worship, the pursuit of justice and embodied care. As the body of Christ, the Church is an invitational community marked by equality, mutuality, and shared responsibility, relying on the active participation and Spirit-given gifts of every member. As we live out faith, hope, and love, the Church both participates in and anticipates the full and final restoration of all things through Jesus Christ.
